ifm speed sensors
In many industrial applications drives need to be monitored for rotational speed or standstill. In the automotive, food, steel and mining industries, speed sensors are used to safely detect standstill, overspeed and underspeed of drives or belt break on conveyors. On mobile machines such as fork-lift trucks, speed sensors serve as speed pick-ups. In potentially explosive atmospheres, speed sensors are used to safely detect standstill, overspeed and underspeed of drives or belt break on conveyors.
The compact speed monitors of the DI series integrate rotational speed detection and monitoring in one unit. The sensor head operates using inductive or magnetic sensing principles. The sensor detects metal actuating surfaces on a rotating machine part. The integrated evaluation converts this information into rotational speed.

Speed sensors for drives and axes
Thanks to their high switching frequency of 15,000 Hz and an extended temperature range of -32...125 °C, the magnetic MX5 type speed sensors reliably detect the speed and direction of rotation on drives, axes and shafts. The sensors use Hall measuring cells, so that they function reliably and without contact even in cases of heavy soiling. The housing concept makes various combinations of housing lengths and connections possible, such as straight or angled cable outlet and AMP connectors.
