 POINT I/O has four major components:
• I/O modules provide the field interface and system-interface circuitry
• Communication interface modules provide the network-interface circuitry
• Terminal base units provide the wiring and signal termination for field-side connections and system power for the backplane
• Power distribution modules provide the expandability of the POINT I/O system and the flexibility to mix a variety of signal types                                                                                                                                                                        

The 1734-OW4 is an Allen-Bradley POINT IO module. This module is a Relay output module featuring Four (4) Normally Open (N.O.) SPST Relay contact outputs. The contact outputs are rated 5-30 VDC; 120 VAC and 250 VAC. This module has a POINTBus current draw of 90 mA @ 5DVC. It requires use of 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS terminal base for mounting and wiring the module.

The Allen-Bradley 1734-OW4 is a POINT O/I module. This module is a discrete output module with Four (4) Single Pole, Single Throw (SPST) Normally Open (N.O.) contacts. These contact outputs are voltage-free contacts and supports operating with 5-30 VDC; 120 VAC and 250 VAC voltages. It has a compact and small design, ideally used for implementing distributed I/O architecture and supports installation to a DIN rail and couples with an appropriate terminal base for wiring of signal an input power with applicable bases such as 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS. The 1734-OW4 contact outputs exhibits a signal transition delay from ON to OFF of 26 ms with initial contact resistance of 30 m?. To operate this device, it must be allocated with 80 mA POINTBus current while the module’s power dissipation is 0.5 W and Thermal Dissipation of 1.7 BTU/Hr.

The 1734-OW4 supports any available POINT I/O communication adapter such as Ethernet, ControlNet and ProfiBus adapters. These adapters enable the 1734-OW4 to receive commands from partner controllers such as ControlLogix and CompactLogix and implement the automation sequence. Additionally, it can be mixed with any other point I/O modules to achieve the required I/O.

For configuration, software configurable parameters are accessed with the use of the RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 Logix Designer Programming software packages. Parameters such as Request Packet Interval (RPI), Signal Delay, Keying and slot assignment may be configured using these programming software.

The 1734-OW4 has operating temperature requirement of -20…55 degrees C (-4…131 degrees F) and non-operating temperature of -40…85 degrees C (-40…185 degrees F) while the relative humidity of 5-95%, non-condensing.

The Allen-Bradley 1734-OW4 POINT I/O 4 Relay Output Module is an electronic module which has 4 open electromechanical relay outputs with a 20ms output delay time from ON to OFF. It has a maximum OFF-State leakage current of 1.2 mA @ 240V AC via a bleed resistor. The 1734-OW4 has a contact resistance of 30m ?, with a 0.5W power dissipation at 1.7 BTU/hr equivalent thermal dissipation. Its POINT BUS current is 80mA with a backplane power of 5V DC, and it can be installed on any of the 4 1734 base terminal modules. The 1734- OW4 can also be used with ControlNet and Ethernet adapters using RSLogix 5000, version 11 or later.

The 1734-OW4 is mounted on a DIN rail using the terminal base screws as determined by the base block. It has a contact rating of 120-240V AC at 2A, and an isolation voltage of 250V tested at 2550V DC for 60s between the field and system and between the contacts set. The 1734-OW4 has a maximum switching frequency of 1 operation per 3 sec., and it is load-dependent, with a 100,000-cycle load-dependent electrical contact life expectancy. It is designated with the T4 and T4A temperature code, and the module has an open-style enclosure type. It has a single ON signal wire category with 0.25-2.5mm2 (22-14 AWG) solid and stranded copper wire rated at 85 deg. C. The 1734-OW4 has an operating temperature between -20 and 55 deg. C (-4 and 131 deg. F) at 5-95% non-condensing humidity. It has an operational shock rating of 30G and at a vibration of 5G (10-500Hz). Each 1734-OW4 Digital Contact Module’s output is rated 240VDC RMS at 2A and the current is load-dependent. It has 4 N.O. relay outputs and a POINTBus current of 80 milliamps with a maximum Power Dissipation of 0.5 Watts.
